Ubuntu Sneaking in Snaps

I'm testing Debian as I prepare to migrate work systems away from Ubuntu. The testing is going well. I hope to migrate all Ubuntu systems soon.

In the interim, package updates arrived on the Ubuntu systems. One of the packages pulled and installed the snapd package. Previously I had deliberately purged all things snap.

Looks like the Ubuntu folks want to play bully and shove snaps down everybody’s throats.

How proprietary and small-minded.

I won’t play this game. I purged the snapd package.

I look forward to never again maintaining Ubuntu systems.
