Count Selected Lines in Kate

Despite many features, one that seems missing from KDE Kate is counting the number of selected lines.

Kate has a helpful status bar showing line position, column, word count, and character count. The status bar will show the number of selected words and characters, but not the number of selected lines.

A clunky work-around is copy the selection and paste into a new document with the line number feature enabled.

Odd that an “advanced” text editor would not have such a feature.
