Security Exploits and Click-Bait Headlines

Computer security receives decent attention these days. Potential exploits are published promptly. Software gets patched. That is good.

Unfortunately announcing these potential exploits means click-bait headlines. That gets old and weary real quick.

Humans are creatures of limited knowledge. There always will be security patches. The click-bait headlines are unnecessary. Especially when realizing that a significant majority of the potential exploits require administrative privileges.

I patch computers in a timely manner. Yet I don’t worry much about security exploits because few are exploitable without admin privileges.

I wish we could get rid of the nonsense click-bait headlines.
