Creating PDFs

Not creating PDFs directly from digital source documents seems to be a common affliction among many non technical computer users.

Often users will print to paper, scan the paper document, and save the scan as PDF.

As an image file, the document becomes unsearchable.

All that is needed is directly saving or exporting the document as PDF.

I think the challenge is not so much memory muscle or habits, but simple cognitive dissonance that creating PDFs in this manner is even possible.
