Migrating a Business to Linux — 5

Within the first day of placing our first two Linux laptops into the field, one of the field techs returned a laptop. The trackpad kept failing.

I immediately knew why.

I detest trackpads. I always carry a small USB mouse with my own laptop. Through the years I almost never use a trackpad. On my personal systems I had created some shell scripts to automatically disable the trackpad when my own mouse was detected.

I had forgotten to remove those scripts when I created the disk partition images.

I also removed the respective *.desktop files from $HOME/.config/autostart.
