Another Clue
There is a clue that many Linux users do not understand the chasm between technical and non technical users. Notice in many how-tos and tutorials the overwhelming presumption of using the terminal. Notice how authors use terminal commands to install software rather than GUI package managers.
Even in the popular Ubuntu ecosystem, the presumption in most articles is to use apt-get rather than the software manager or Synaptic. When articles are written with this presumption, the conversation is geek to geek. Non technical users will not pause to read such articles.
