Living Under a Rock
Rant time.
Many writers like to use the phrase “living under a rock” to infer that readers should be aware of whatever the author is sharing.
What a pompous, insulting phrase.
All humans are creatures of limited knowledge. All humans pursue their own interests. There is not enough time in the day or in the age of the universe to know all things that writers presume all people “should” know. People have lives far outside the puny realms writers live in.
Stop using that asinine phrase.
